This was our 10th weekly tournament and we had 20 players attend, with 16 contributing to the pools - including our sole female competitor. Play got started very early at 4:10 P.M., and was completed by the last group at a record time of 7:55 P.M.
Our own
Brian Henderson is returning to form and shot a nice sub-par round of 50 (net 50.93). "The legend"
Ron Junker took second with a great round of -5, 49 (net 51.93) and
Brant Willis took third with a -1 round (net 52.2). It was also wonderful to see
Karen Miller return (as our first woman player) who now has established her handicap - so men beware!
This week's pay-out was
$25.00 for 1st, $15.00 for 2nd and
$8.00 for 3rd place finishers.
Note: No tournament next week as it is the Fourth of July! Enjoy the 4th and see everyone back on Tuesday July 11th.
Hot "Weekly" results
Tuesday - June.20.06
This
weeks tournament was held on a warm and calm evening, with 23 players attend and 14 contributing to the pools - the 9 new players were a welcome sight and included our first woman (YEAH!!!). Play got started around 5:10 P.M., and was completed by the last group at 8:35 P.M.
As the temperature heated up, so did the scores.
K.P. Hunter is rounding into form and won this week with an even par round (net 47.12). "The icon"
Scott Hoetker took second with a great round of -4 (net 48.97) and
Jon Bernick (J.B.) took third with a -1 round (net 49.64). Many players shot under or around par, so each player's handicap makes the difference in who finishes win, place and show. It was also wonderful to see so many new players, and
Karen Miller deserves mention as our first woman player. We hope to see even more woman players in the weeks ahead.
This week's pay-out was
$23.00 for 1st, $13.00 for 2nd and
$6.00 for 3rd place finishers.
Note: We continue to take donations for the new #6 tee-pad, and with a few more we should be close to paying it off. Thanks to everyone for their generosity and for making our weekly such a fun event!
Mid June "Weekly"
Tuesday - June.13.06
This
weeks tournament was held on a relatively calm and cool evening, with 18 players attend and 16 contributing to the pools. Play got started early with a number of groups going out before 5:00 P.M., and was completed by the last group at 8:05 P.M.
As the breezes calmed down and the temperature cooled, the scores heated up with a number of players shooting under par. Our local big-throwing
Brian Hernderson took first with a five under round of 49 (net 49.32), but he was not the only one going low as
Mike Castillo actually beat him with a six down round (although his handicap netted him a 50.2 and a tie for second place.
K.P. Hunter regained some of his usual long disc form and shot a nice four over round (net 50.2) to tie Mike.
This week's pay-out was $25.00 for 1st, and $11.50 for both 2nd place finishers.
Note: We continue to take donations for the new #6 tee-pad , and with a few more we should be close to paying it off. Thanks to everyone for their generosity and for making our weekly such a fun event!

James Benner took second with a net of 56.4, and "the legend"
Ron Junker took third with a net of 57. Chris Addiego shot an amazing round of 46 (one off the tournament course record), but was not eligible to win as this was his only his second time playing the weekly.

Thanks to everyone who attended for continuing to make this event a success!New #6 Tee Box
Saturday - June.03.06

A
new tee box was made for Hole #6 on Thursday and Friday of last week. Thanks to Scott F., Brant W., Dustin L., Jess W. and Paul B. for all their help in making this long, long overdue improvement!!
While some of the cost were paid from the weekly tournament participants,
more donations are needed to complete cover the costs associated with this wonderful new tee box. If you can, please donate to the club (c/o Scott Fuller) to help reimburse him for the almost $200 of additional expenses. Other fundraising efforts are planned later this summer to help us continue to make improvements like this one.
Thanks again for all your support and we look forward to enjoying this new tee pad for many years to come!
