The 5th Moraga Weekly Tournament returned to Tuesday nights and more old friends turned up! We had a field of 19 players (17 contributing to the pools) after the long 3 day weekend, and windy/warm conditions greeted them or this evenings round. Play got started on time at 5:00 P.M. and was completed by 8:00 P.M. Scott F. and Brant W. filled in or Gregg again this week, but look for Gregg's return next week.

Week 5 Results

Craig "big snap" Schott came in first with a nice 4 down round (net 49.6) and second went to Mike "gun show" Castillo for his 2 down (net 51.2) round. Mike had the benefit of sleepy good luck charms (his 2 kids) who got to witness his good shooting firsthand (at least or the holes they were awake). Brant "Mr. Money" Willis continued to shoot well (shooting 54 - net 53.4) and just edged Scott "the icon" Hoetker who also had his usual good score (54 - net 53.8).

This week's pay-out was $30.00, $21.00, $12.00 and $5.00 for 4th place. Thanks to everyone for making our weekly such a fun event!

The 4th Moraga Weekly Tournament had a small field (12 players, with only 9 contributing to the pools) with the 3 day weekend looming, and the weather turning warmer. Play got started early tonight at 4:30 P.M. and was completed by 7:55 P.M. Scott F. and Brant W. filled in or Gregg this week and will likely do so again next week.

Week 4 Results

First went to Matt Barclay with a nice 2 over round (net 48.8) and obviously considerably bettered his previous scores. Second went to Brant Willis who had another strong week (shooting 51 - net 49.4) and just edged Scott "the icon" Hoetker who also had his usual good score (51 - net 49.9).

This week's pay-out was $21.00, $10.00 and $5.00 for 3rd place. Thanks to everyone for making our weekly such a fun event!

Play got started early tonight at 5:00 P.M. and was completed by 7:55 P.M. Brant W. filled in or Gregg as the Tournament Director and did a great job - Thanks Brant!!

Being a TD must have agreed with Brant as he took 1st place with a even par round (Net 51.6) - nice shooting (I guess you'll want to be TD more often??). Second went to Josh Yocum (Net 52.6) and third to K.P. "The octopus" Hunter (53.2) and fourth to Jesse Wisecarver (55.4).

This week's pay-out was $27.00, $18.00, $10.00 and $5.00 for 4th place. Thanks to everyone for making our weekly such a fun event!

As for the results, Ron "the legend" Junker and Craig "super snap" Schott tied for first with two under! Nice shooting from the local boys!! Scott "the icon" Hoetker and Sean Swichard tied for third with rounds of one under. Wow, a very close tournament indeed.

This week's pay-out was $22.00 for both players who tied for 1st, and $5.00 for both players in 3rd place. Thanks to everyone for making our weekly such a fun event!

The 2007 Moraga Weekly Tournament season got underway this evening, with a small field of 13 players, with 11 contributing to the pools. Play got started very early tonight at 5:10 P.M. and was completed by 7:55 P.M.

This year's TD is Gregg La Comb and we want to thank him for stepping up to run these events - thanks Gregg!!

As for the results, J.B. took first with a (-4) round - nice shooting J.B.! Scott "the icon" Hoetker and newcomer Kris O'Bryan tied for second with rounds of two over. Great to see both old vets and new blood get some cash.

This week's pay-out was $24.00 for 1st, $10.00 for both players in 2nd place. Thanks to everyone for making our weekly such a fun event!

Back by popular demand, Moraga will begin this season's weekly tournament (similar to Berkeley's) this Thursday evening, starting at 5pm May 3rd. This year the tournaments will be directed by Greg LaComb who has graciously offered to help and run these events - THANKS Greg!!

Note: The weekly will be switched to Tuesday evenings once the concert series begins later this summer.

For those who are new to the our tournament or are coming back:
The tournament begins as soon as there are enough people to go out (between 5 pm and 5:30 pm) and the fee will be $5 (with $1 going to an Ace pool, and $4 towards the weekly pay-out). The first 2 weeks will establish a player handicap to be used for future weeklies, and so for these first 2 weeks the best scores wins. Last year's handicaps were retired and so we are starting this year out fresh.

Oh and one more thing, the ACE pool is still in play from last year and is currently $ 300.00
