Moraga Disc Golf Club - Proposal

The idea of forming a club to correspond with the Moraga Disc Golf course has been around for a long time, but with the introduction of the web site, it is thought that this idea can now come to fruition.

Aims / Goal:
To organize local players and promote the sport of disc golf, by improving and developing disc golf courses in the Lafayette, Moraga, Orinda areas.

Structure:
Create a membership of local players, and then elect a board of directors to oversee Club projects and ensure the membership aims / goals are achieved.

The board could consist or a Club Director (to oversee and act as single point of contact for Parks & Rec and other agency negotiations), an Associate Director (to assist Director and provide backup), and a Treasurer (to handle club finances). In the beginning all these functions could be done by a single person, but over time it would be great to have more people involved in running the club.

Potential projects:
The survey (or poll) to the right is a good start on a project list. With a new trail tee-pad already authorized by the Parks & Rec (#6), a favorable view of this improvement (as well as the formation of a club) could pave the way for other potential improvements. The main goal of forming this club would be to ensure that the local players are given a voice - and that the projects taken on and potentially paid for would be those that all the members want (rather than a small minority).
